The team at The Maria Island Walk supports research into Tasmanian Devils through the Green Guardian program, established by the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service and the Devil Facial Tumour Disease Task Force. In addition, support is provided to community conservation groups like Tasmanian Land Conservancy and Raptor Rescue.
Staff are also actively involved with planting trees on Maria island to assist endangered birds and prevent erosion, whilst encouraging guests on tour to collect beach litter and debris to prevent wildlife injury.
