Evening Byron Bay Hinterland Walk
Equipped with night vision goggles instead of traditional torches, quietly follow your guide along forest trails, allowing you to observe wildlife behaving naturally while remaining almost invisible in the darkness. This patented experience is unique to Vision Walks Eco-Tours and offers a rare opportunity to experience the rainforest from an entirely different perspective.
Search for some of Australia's fascinating nocturnal species, including pademelons, bandicoots, possums, Tawny Frogmouths, microbats, frogs and, with a little luck, Leaf-tailed Geckos, Fuscipes (Bush Rats) and Melomys. On a typical evening, guests encounter around five different species, although every walk is unique and wildlife sightings naturally vary according to the conditions. Nights with less moonlight generally provide the best opportunities for observing wildlife.
Following your rainforest walk, relax beneath the night sky with hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies before returning to your accommodation.

Night Vision GogglesA range of wildlife experiences have been designed to minimise disturbance to native species. Their Night Vision Walk uses night vision technology rather than traditional spotlights, allowing guests to observe nocturnal wildlife with minimal impact. Wildlife viewing practices across all tours are designed to respect animal behaviour, avoid habitat disturbance and encourage responsible interactions with nature.
Developing Partnerships To Meet Sustainability GoalsVision Walks Eco-Tours actively contributes to Koala conservation through direct financial support and habitat restoration. A donation is made for every guest participating in selected Koala experiences, supporting organisations including Friends of the Koala and Bangalow Koalas.
