Half Day: Byron Bay Hinterland
Travel across the beautiful Byron Bay Hinterland in search of wild Koalas. Spend approximately an hour exploring critical habitat on foot with your environmental scientist guide, scanning the canopy and learning to recognise the signs that reveal where Koalas may be resting or feeding. Sightings are very likely although numbers naturally vary, with guests typically encountering between two and ten Koalas. Binoculars are provided to assist with viewing, allowing the animals to be observed without touching or feeding them.
Learn about the pressures facing wild Koala populations and the importance of protecting their habitat. As part of its commitment to conservation, Vision Walks makes a donation for every guest participating in the tour to a relevant Koala conservation organisation, depending on the area visited.
Following your wildlife encounter, enjoy local tea or coffee accompanied by Byron Bay cookies, before returning to your accommodation.

The business has achieved net carbon-positive outcomes through a combination of emissions reduction, habitat restoration and certified carbon offset programs.
Night Vision GogglesA range of wildlife experiences have been designed to minimise disturbance to native species. Their Night Vision Walk uses night vision technology rather than traditional spotlights, allowing guests to observe nocturnal wildlife with minimal impact. Wildlife viewing practices across all tours are designed to respect animal behaviour, avoid habitat disturbance and encourage responsible interactions with nature.
Developing Partnerships To Meet Sustainability GoalsVision Walks Eco-Tours actively contributes to Koala conservation through direct financial support and habitat restoration. A donation is made for every guest participating in selected Koala experiences, supporting organisations including Friends of the Koala and Bangalow Koalas.
