Itinerary

Tour day-by-day

  • Half Day Byron Bay Hinterland

Travel across the beautiful Byron Bay Hinterland region in search of wild Koalas. Spend approximately an hour exploring critical habitat on foot with your environmental scientist guide, scanning the canopy and learning to recognise the signs that reveal where Koalas may be resting or feeding. Sightings are guaranteed, although numbers naturally vary, with guests typically encountering between two and ten Koalas. Binoculars are provided to assist with viewing, allowing the animals to be observed without touching or feeding them.

Learn about the pressures facing wild Koala populations and the importance of protecting their habitat. As part of its commitment to conservation, Vision Walks makes a donation for every guest participating in the tour to a relevant Koala conservation organisation, depending on the area visited.

Following your wildlife encounter, enjoy local tea or coffee accompanied by Byron Bay cookies, before returning to your accommodation.
