Tour day-by-day
Travellers will be met by an expert local guide in Hobart before journeying south through the picturesque Channel region to Bruny Island, one of Tasmania's most biodiverse areas. The day begins with a private guided experience at Inala Private Nature Reserve, a sanctuary for rare and endangered bird species. Guests will explore a range of habitats in search of Tasmania's 12 endemic bird species, with the chance to observe the endangered Forty-spotted Pardalote from a specially constructed canopy platform.
Raptors are a highlight of this area, and guests may be rewarded with sightings of the white morph Grey Goshawk or the Tasmanian subspecies of the Wedge-tailed Eagle soaring overhead. A relaxed lunch at a local restaurant with bay views offers a moment to reflect on the morning's encounters.
In the afternoon, guests return to the mainland for a private visit to the Raptor Refuge. On a personalised "Walk & Talk" tour, they will come face-to-face with some of the island's most impressive birds of prey, including eagles, falcons, hawks, and owls. With exclusive access to the largest flight aviary in the southern hemisphere and an immersive education centre, this visit offers rare insights into raptor rehabilitation and conservation.
This is an enriching and memorable day for nature enthusiasts, bird lovers, and anyone seeking a deeper connection with Tasmania's unique wildlife.
